The service organizations of Winchester, CA and Homes for Our Troops are presenting a benefit dinner/dance to help build a handicapped accessible home for SSG Wallace Fanene and his family. SSG Fanene lost his right leg and arm in an IED attack in Iraq.
Many people are volunteering their time, talent, and money to make this event a community success. This will be a great evening of food, fun and friendship. But most importantly it will be an evening of community pride in support of our troops and veterans. Chuck Stewart and his band will be providing music for the dance. Other organizations are providing food and support. I’ll sing my song, “Remember Me (The Fallen Soldier)”, as a tribute to our veterans. The Sun City Quilt Club will present SSG Fanene with a "Quilt of Valor" and will also donate a quilt for the silent auction. If you would like to make a donation (money or items for the silent auction) or get tickets, please contact Gregg Cowdery (951) 294-0899. Items for the silent auction must be turned in to Gregg by Sept. 8th.
So many times, we feel helpless as we see our young men and women come home wounded in war. We ask: "What can we do?". This is your chance to help. Please be part of this wonderful and important opportunity to give back to those who defend our freedom. You will be richly blessed.
